The Engineering Faculty offers companies, public administration and professionals the opportunity to cooperate in research and technological innovation ,
to develop new solutions and improve competitiveness at company and national level.
In collaboration with other organizations we have set up masters programmes, other permanent teaching activities and seminars as well as a consultancy service,
sharing both our competencies in the fields of technology and science and resources such as advanced instrumentation for testing, measuring and experimentation. Enterprises interested in joint projects should consult the booklet "Research and Competencies at the University of Pavia", which lists research projects by key words and has an index of the instruments available to outside users.
The University-Enterprise window was set up to facilitate the transfer of technologySportello Università-Imprese and skills to industry with special reference to innovative small and medium enterprises. Another no less important objective was to promote the start up of new high-tech enterprises. Companies stipulate contracts and research conventions with departments of the Faculty of Engineering to carry out a specified research program in accordance with prevailing contract regulations.

The university is on track to set up a
joint enterprise with private and public bodies to develop innovative teaching technologies, curriculum design and supplying distance learning and lifelong learning services to companies and the work environment.
The tradition of collaboration between the Faculty of Engineering and private enterprise and public administration has been enriched by the institution of work placements, a fundamental resource in the integration and completion of students' professional preparation.
